Hello Beauties! Happy Wednesday! Can you believe we’re almost through May?! Where is time going! Summer is right around around the corner and I have to say I don’t know if I’m ready for the Texas heat! I’m here today with another pattern review! This time on a Butterick pattern from McCall Pattern Company. This was my first time sewing it up and I’m in LOVE. I chose a linen blend that I picked up at Joann’s fabric! My favorite part of this pattern is the loose/wide sleeves, I think I have a thing with being too constricted or something! Lol. It was my first time working with any type of linen fabric and let me tell you if you don’t already know, it WRINKLES easily! I looked up tips afterward on how to prevent this and the best I could find is to pre-treat/wash with regular clothing detergent, warm water and a towel to give it a softer hand, also to press WELL, prior to sewing. Aside from that this top was super breezy and comfortable! Pattern Review Below! Enjoy! XOXO Do you have tips for preventing wrinkles in linen fabrics or do we just embrace them? 😉

Pattern Description: Misses’ Cropped Tops – Butterick 6175
Pattern Sizing: 6-14, I cut size 8.
Did it look like the photo/drawing on the pattern envelope once you were done sewing with it? Yes it did! 🙂
Were the instructions easy to follow? They are thorough, this is a good beginner pattern in my opinion.
What did you particularly like or dislike about the pattern? There’s a few things I love about this pattern: Ease of sewing, ability to use several different fabric types, wide sleeve option, little fabric usage.
Fabric Used: Linen/Rayon Blend, here.
Pattern alterations or any design changes you made: None, it’s great as is!
Would you sew it again? Would you recommend it to others? Yes. I actually really love this view I made (view b), I’ll make another one for the fall in a stable knit fabric! Possibly the sleeveless version for the summer! 🙂
Conclusion: Great pattern to create work tops! Quick, easy and not a lot of fabric! WIN.
This is beautiful! Very clean, modern and stylish!
Thank you Melisha!
This is really cute and I think your fabric selection made this “eye-catching”!
I was almost going to just make a fold over clutch with this fabric, so glad I choose otherwise! Thank you for the comment! XO
I have this pattern and not til I read your review at PR that I remembered the wider sleeves. I may have to give this a try!!!! I like the fabric you chose.
This is my first time visit to your blog and enjoyed reading your posts.
