Hi BEAUTIES! Happy Friday! 🙂 I hope you had a great week. Today I’m sharing my latest make which is The Saldana Maxi Dress! The PDF pattern comes free with issue 1 of SEW SEW DEF MAG or you can purchase on it’s own, HERE. It’s a really quick make with fun seam lines and color blocking options. For this one I kept it simple. Although there are future plans to use those seam lines to their full potential! 😉 Since this is a free pattern included in Issue 1, I wanted to make sure you watched my latest giveaway VIDEO for reaching 1,000 subscribers on YOUTUBE where I’m giving away a digital issue of the magazine! All the details are at the end of the video (shown below)! There’s still time to enter! It’s easy peasy, I promise!Â

MARCHÂ MAKES Â + 1K GIVEAWAY VIDEO
Pattern Description:Â THE SALDANA is the perfect every day maxi dress or high-low t-shirt pattern. This pattern can take you from day to night and can be casual, chic and sexy depending on your fabric choice, shoes and accessories. THE SALDANA PDFÂ
Pattern Sizing:Â Â XXS – 2XL, I cut the XXS.
Did it look like the photo/drawing on the pattern envelope once you were done sewing with it? Yes!
Were the instructions easy to follow? Yes, they are great.
What did you particularly like or dislike about the pattern? I liked the 1/4″ seam allowance rather than the usual 5/8″ it made it easier for me to use my serger for most of the construction.
Fabric Used: ITY Knit, similar HERE, HERE. Sign up for EBATES to save 3% at FABRIC.COM.
Pattern alterations or any design changes you made: I made a 2.5″ sleeve cuff rather than the method in the instructions. Also I took in about 1/2″ seam allowance at each side seam.
Would you sew it again? Would you recommend it to others? Yes! It’s a quick easy make and perfect for this time of year. The tie knot at the slit is optional. You can let it loose for a simple maxi look.

Very pretty Rosy! I love the clothes you make, I really like your style 🙂 … How did you learned to sew? Did you take classes or you learned on your own? I’m trying to learn now, but it is more complicated than what I thought. Do you have any patterns you recommend for beginners?….In a hopefully near future I would love to make my own clothes 🙂
Thank you so much!
Hi Rosy,
