Hello BEAUTIES! I hope you are well! Today’s post is my outfit for Thanksgiving day this year! I have to admit I’m still feeling a little “off” from the procedure I had done last week but I knew I wanted to get a few shots in of the recent Vogue 9209 skirt I made! The boxy shape of this piece is a step out from my usual fitted pieces I tend to wear so I did step out of my comfort zone a bit! 😉
My favorite detail of the skirt has to be the BUTTONS along the hip bones, also this is a wrap skirt as opposed to the standard invisible zipper at the back or side seam so that ads a nice touch. The top I’m wearing is a DIY using a tutorial from Mimi G style, the drop shoulder top! You can find that here. She’s having a $5 tutorial sale SOON so be sure to take advantage of that & ALL the online pattern sales coming up for Black Friday! YAY! I have my list ready! 🙂 The taupe fabric is a wool knit found online at FabricMart. Pattern Review and Photos below! Have an AWESOME Thanksgiving Day tomorrow! XO

Pattern Description: Buttoned Wrap Skirts – Vogue 9209
Pattern Sizing: 6 – 14, I cut size 10.
Did it look like the photo/drawing on the pattern envelope once you were done sewing with it? Yes.
Were the instructions easy to follow? Yes.
What did you particularly like or dislike about the pattern? I discovered with this pattern that I don’t really care for attatching buttons! I LOVE how they finish off a garment and look so polished! As far as attaching them I don’t really care for the process. That’s more of a personal thing but I don’t actually dislike anything about this pattern.
Fabric Used: Polyester Tweed/Wool Suiting from Fabric Mart.
Pattern alterations or any design changes you made: None. I did however sew this entire piece with a 1/2″ seam allowance as opposed to the typical 5/8″. Simply because the finished hip measurement of the size 10 is a tad smaller than my actual hips and I didn’t want to run into any problems when I tried this on.
Would you sew it again? Would you recommend it to others? I don’t think I will sew this again. It is a great pattern though and I do recommend if you like the style/design. Go for it! 🙂

Very nice!!! I know sewing buttons may not be the most fun thing to do but, you nailed it with this skirt! Very cute!
Hi, Rosy
What a lovely outfit to wear on Thanksgiving Day! Love the fabric and how you paired it with that top. Great job!
It’s cute! It’s hard to pull off a sexy skirt in winter, but you’re doing it! It is a departure from your normal aesthetic, but style is all about pushing your boundaries, so good for you.
