Jungle January: Saiph Tunic – Papercut Patterns

Hi BEAUTIES! 2017 is here! #Jungle January is basically a sewing hashtag where you can share your animal print makes! I didn’t join in on the fun last year but knew I had to make something “jungle” inspired this time around! 🙂 I chose a fab little pattern from an indie company named Papercut Patterns. I have 3 of their PDF’s that I purchased in 2015! (we can’t sew as fast as we can buy patterns, lol) This is my first official make of theirs and it’s quite short as its meant to be a tunic but the cover model of the pattern has it styled as a dress and I had to wear it that way as well! 😉

This is my first post of the year but I actually took these shots late last month, I am so excited for you to see my next blog (coming soon) where I’ve changed my hair a bit! I can’t wait to show you the new look, it’s much more low maintenance (yes!) and I love it! Did you make any changes to your style/look for the new year? It’s hard not to with all the excitement! I have so many goals that I want to meet and it feels great having something positive and exciting to work towards! What are you most excited about for 2017?Feel free to share your goals with me in the comments below! 🙂 Any-who I hope you enjoy today’s blog and I hope that you are having a great start to the new year! Pattern review and photos below! XO

Pattern Description: An easy fit tunic with french darts and two hem variations.  One straight with in seam front pockets and the other circular for a feminine touch.  Both have centre back seam with slit and loop closure.  Neckline is finished with a neck facing. – Saiph Tunic.

Pattern Sizing: XXS – XL, I cut size XS.

Did it look like the photo/drawing on the pattern envelope once you were done sewing with it? Yes.

Were the instructions easy to follow? Yes I found them easy to follow, this is a simple dress to put together.

What did you particularly like or dislike about the pattern? I like the rouleau loop and button closure at the back it makes for a quick finish. Also love the drop waist! 🙂

Fabric Used: Ponte De Roma – Cheetah Gray (no longer available) Similar – here, here, here.

Pattern alterations or any design changes you made: None.

Would you sew it again? Would you recommend it to others? Yes! I want to try the flounce version.
