Hi, BEAUTIES! I’m back again! Double posts, wow, I might have my sew-jo back 😉 If you’ve been sewing commercial patterns for a bit, you may already be familiar with the pattern used for today’s look. A fan favorite in the sewing community, by the incredible Mimi G. An off-the-shoulder dress never seems to go out of style, and it was calling my name for this holiday season.
I hope you are having a great start to the new year! I’m dipping my toes back in the sewing world again, it has evolved so much to reach even more people, and I love it! There are more great creators to share and be inspired by!

PATTERN Simplicity 8045 (no longer available in-store; do a quick Google search for Etsy or other online sellers).
SIZING: 10-18 I cut size 10.
FABRIC: Animal Print Jersey Knit from Joann Fabrics
SEWING: I serge hemmed all raw edges on the sleeve and lower part of dress.
ALTERATIONS: I lengthened the sleeve of the pattern and added 4″ of length at the fold line of the bodice wrap.
CONCLUSION: A timeless pattern, stunning and simple. It’s great for curious beginners!
