Hi Beauties! Happy FRIDAY! Okay so I could only see so many boho style rompers on Pinterest before I had to get up and make one for myself! I mean the links could go on and on, lol. I looked through my pattern stash (it’s pretty hoarder-ish) and I could not find anything in the style I wanted. SO I played around with pattern mixing, if you’re a seamstress I’m sure you’ve done this before take a little from one package find a way to add it to another pattern piece from an entirely different package. That was me earlier this week.

Pattern Combination:
- I knew I wanted a wrap front so I borrowed that from Butterick 6204. I added 3″ in length and omitted the darts (the fabric is so loose and flowy that I didn’t notice a problem).
- I also used the Butterick pattern for the sleeve of course, so it would fit I just flared the sleeve out to the length I wanted.
- For the shorts I used Simplicity 8124, this is such a great pattern with so many possibilities in my opinion, definitely a must have. I only needed to take in a tad on the back of the shorts to fit with the bodice.
- Lastly I added a hook and eye at the center front along the wrap to keep the front together. That’s it!
I really love how it turned out. Now there’s probably a sewing pattern out there somewhere like this (lol) but now I have my very own “franken-pattern” for a romper that I will definitely re-visit again and again.
Do you love to mix patterns? I’ve started do this quite a bit lately and it’s pretty fun! Pinterest is usually my guide of inspiration and I can usually find a pattern or two in my stash to help me as a jumping off point! It’s kind of an easy way of playing your hand at design! Enjoy the post! I’ll be back Monday with another pattern mix. 🙂

Hi Rosy!
This is so gorgeous on you with your coloring. You did a great job in mixing patterns! Where did you find this fabric, it looks like a rayon of sort. Very Bohemian, very chic! Love your blog and your style!
Thank you Loretta! I believe it’s a Rayon Challis, I picked it up at “The Loft” in Los Angeles. A discounted area for Michael Levine Fabrics. I tried to find online to link and had no luck! I could link to similar if you’d like?? Thank you for the compliments! I really appreciate it!
