33rd Birthday! + Sicily Slip Dress -

Hi, BEAUTIES!

I’m 33 today! Woohoo! I’m feeling so grateful and appreciating life and everything it has to offer me, as long as I am honest with myself and putting in the work. I’ve had the most personal growth within the last couple of years and can feel a noticeable change in my perspectives, openness, and ability to release things that are not serving me. There’s something about entering my 30s that made me finally take a look at where I was and where I wanted to be.

Everyone is on their path, but if I had anything to offer a younger woman that wanted some guidance, I would tell her to please invest in herself. Put yourself first, always! The love you wish someone else would give to you, give that to you. Expand your mind, read, be curious, truly enjoy your days because those days are what our lives are.

Okay, onto today’s make! The Sicily slip dress, how gorgeous is this pattern/fabric combo? I saw this dress pop on my Instagram feed several times throughout my first semester of nursing school at the start of the year and couldn’t wait to get a break so I could make one! SIZING: A – J, I cut size B.

FABRIC: TELIO VISCOSE CREPE (currently sold out! – any lightweight dress fabric from Telio will work beautifully)

SEWING: This dress can be a tricky make for a beginner seamstress because of the care needed in handling fabric cut on the bias. However, the pattern instructions do a fabulous job in walking you through, so it is possible!

CONCLUSION: Fabulous date night dress, girls night out on the town dress, or birthday dress! Love it and will sew again! ❤️
