Hello BEAUTIES! Happy Friday! 🙂 Today I have a fun look for a date night dress or a girls night out look! I used an ITY Knit and a modified V-neck shirt pattern from Simplicity and Mimi G, to make this SUPER cute Bodycon dress! These types of dresses are classic in my opinion and can be made in different colors and prints to give a different “feel”.
This is my first make of this altered pattern but I WILL be sewing several in neutral tones to transition me through the seasons! 🙂 I’m seriously excited for Fall sewing and colder weather. We still have a while here in Texas but I’m dreaming of it! 🙂 Enjoy the post and have a FABULOUS weekend!

Pattern Modifications:
- I used Simplicity 8177 View B for the top portion of this and graded in a self drafted knit skirt pattern at the waistline of the shirt pattern, to both the front and the back pieces.
- Instead of cutting the back on the fold I used a center back seam to accommodate the back vent of the skirt pattern. I didn’t add extra seam allowance since I knew the smallest size of the pattern size 10 would be a little large on me and I wanted this to be fitted.
- I took out a little from the neckband pattern piece to make up for the extra I was taking out from the back pattern piece. That was it! Easy right? Yet so cute! 🙂
The sewing pattern overall is a MUST have for me simply because every single piece given in the package is a wardrobe staple! LOVE.
