Hello BEAUTIES! I Hope you all had an amazing weekend! Today’s post is this beautiful black and white dress I made using a Vogue Pattern, I had this around for a while and finally got the chance to sew it up. I also learned a few new techniques along the way! After teaching myself to sew in 2014 it has been an ongoing learning session! I recommend to anyone new to sewing or curious about it, just GO for it, all in! You won’t be disappointed. Pattern Review below! Enjoy! XOXO

Did you line this dress Rosy?
The bodice of this dress is lined, I used the same fashion fabric from the outer layer. The skirt position is not lined. It’s a fairly quick & easy sew! XO
You’ve inspired me to give this pattern a try! Your fabric also inspired me – I had a solid fuchsia twill that I used the Shibori technique to reverse dye (using bleach), and I want to use that for this pattern. Did you cut the skirt pattern along the grain as shown in the pattern, or did you change it up? It looks like from the way your fabric lays that you did?
SO glad to have inspired you to give this pattern a try! The fabric you have in mind for this sounds AMAZING! I do not remember if I did cut using the grain of the pattern but you are correct judging by the looks I must have switched it up! Thank you for stopping by the blog! XO
Thanks for the inspiration! I finished this dress over the weekend and I LOVE it! I really love where the hem of the skirt fits – it’s short enough to look cute and youthful, but not too short that it wouldn’t be work appropriate. I’ll post pics and a review on sewingpatternreview.com and on the new McCalls’ Facebook group soon!
I agree the hem of the skirt is what makes the dress! I love where it falls as well! I’ll go check out your pics! I bet it came out amazing! XO
I’ve had this pattern for a while now and have been putting off making the dress for some reason but you’ve sold me! Your dress is so cute and so feminine! I love it! I must make it a.s.a.p.!
P.S. For someone who has only been sewing for a couple of years….you’re clearly a natural.
I’m glad you like this dress! It’s actually my favorite pattern to date. So comfortable and chic! I really want to try the other version in this pattern Hopefully soon! Thank you for the sweet comment and sorry for taking so long to comment back! For some reason I missed this one! XO
